Background:
"Before I started racing with Mengoni I was racing for Sony Music Studios and had been asking Mr. I to let me join but he always said no. I figured that If I won the Mengoni he'd surely put me on the team so in 1996 I did, I beat Mike and Frank McCormack. To my surprise he still said no! The following spring I raced at Bear Mountain and was away from the first lap with, at that time, the Canadian National TT champion (cant remember the bloke's name) and finished 4th after he dropped me on the last lap and I got caught by [Bill] Innes and [Donny] Lopez. It was then, at the parking lot, to my amazement that out of nowhere Mr. I. came and offered me a spot. I must've proved myself that day or something."
