Wilson won the 2nd race of the NYC Spring Series in a field sprint (the temperature was 33°F and part of the usual course was closed due to icy conditions). His win was so convincing that there were several bike lengths between he and the second-placed rider. This was Wilson's first win in Central Park since 2003, when he won the Mengoni GP.

Wilson had just received his team-issue Jamis bicycle, and rode it for the first time in the race. When asked about the new bike he said, "That bike won all by itself."
