Pollo wins in Central Park. - Sunday, March 28, 2004 at 18:20
With the series now led by Melito Heredia, his Toga team was on the attack all race long. This kept the Mengoni team busy trying to maintain control of the race, so that Pollo could use his finishing speed to win and to gain points toward to series overall. Although several groups gained small advantages throughout the race, the finish was contested in a field sprint, which Pollo won.

Notes:
Sergio Rolando (Toga) was relegated for foul riding in the sprint.

Pollo flatted late in the race and got a bike change from a team mate. He then (jokingly) complained about having to sprint with 175mm cranks. Oddly, the same thing happened in the previous day's race, where he finished 7th. To put these incidents into perspective, 3 weeks earlier, he flatted, changed bikes, got into the winning break, pulled out of his pedals (his team mate's bike) while sprinting, and got 7th. Perhaps he should change his name to Gato.

Melito Heredia (Toga) finished 5th, reclaiming the leader's jersey from Daniel Byrne (CRCA/Sanchez-Metro).
